1. Get the complete valuation report
Ask for the report supporting the offer and confirm the vehicle information before searching for comparables.
2. Identify factual errors
Document missing options, incorrect trim, mileage errors, unsupported condition deductions and other factual issues with records or photographs where possible.
3. Research comparable vehicles
Prioritize similar trim, drivetrain, equipment, mileage and market area. Keep the listing URL, dealer, VIN when available, mileage, asking price and date observed.
4. Present a supported value
Explain how the evidence changes the valuation. A smaller set of strong comparables with clear reasoning is usually more useful than dozens of weak listings.
5. Review contractual next steps
If ordinary reconsideration does not resolve the disagreement, review the applicable policy for any appraisal provision, deadlines or other procedures.
